Art Guild Day Trip | Mid-Century Modern: From Charles Schulz to Richard Diebenkorn

Tuesday, October 15, 2013, 8:30 am–4:30 pm
Tuesday, October 15, 2013 - 8:30am

Early Peanuts cartoons were filled with Eames chairs and abstract paintings. Mid-Century Modern at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa celebrates this early work, including modern furniture, décor, paintings and early Peanuts drawings. Our private tour will be before the Museum opens.

From 1973 until his death, Schulz’s residence was the current Sechrist home, where Schulz’s study with his memento-covered desk has been preserved. A catered lunch in the Sechrist’s hilltop garden will be a special treat.

At the College of Marin in Kentfield, The Intimate Diebenkorn: Works On Paper 1949 – 1992, curated by artist Chester Arnold, has 40 pieces, 38 never before publicly viewed, and offers “a rich glimpse into the artist’s evolution spanning more than 40 years.”
