Art Guild Day Trip | Davis: A Treasure Trove of Art

Thursday, April 17, 2014
Thursday, April 17, 2014 - 12:00am

Join the Art Guild to explore the fascinating new art scene in Davis on a tour with John Natsoulas. Natsoulas directed the creation of The Transmedia Art Walk, transforming the outside walls of buildings into colorful and narrative wall murals painted by local and internationally known California artists.  The Art Walk also offers views of the many sculptures in front yards and hidden alleys created by both city and private grants. Phil Linhares, former OMCA Chief Curator of Art, joins the tour to share stories about the mural artists, many personally known to him.

The day concludes at the Natsoulas Gallery and the UC Davis Library, a museum unto itself, with a vast collection of the nation’s most distinguished artists.

Davis today has one of the largest public art collections per square mile of any city in the nation, so join the Art Guild to see what this amazing hidden gem of a town has to offer.
