COMMUNITY

The Oakland Museum of California values the importance of community. OMCA partners with many different community organizations to present exemplary programs that offer new perspectives and opportunities to learn, such as our Lunar New Year celebration, Black History events, and our annual Days of the Dead Community Celebration. When OMCA reopens in May 2010, you can look forward to many community programs and events that celebrate the unique cultural richness and diversity of the Bay Area.

Look for OCMA out in the community as well. You can invite us to your community event to lead a hands-on activity or you can connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Flickr!

Finally, learn more about our community advisory councils that keep us tuned in to our region's extraordinary diversity, as the Museum seeks to bring together the many people, voices, and stories of California that create and shape our dynamic and multifaceted community.
