Day 5 Return to Main Page

Awakening in the camp. Stella and Heather awake on the big day of our caving camp. This was the day were going caving in California Caverns.
Here are all the Cave Campers all suited up in coveralls, gloves, high-tops and helmets before we embark on our journey to the center of the earth.
Our fearless leader, Dorris,  is showing us how to squeeze through the smallest passageways. We spent six hours exploring the depths of California Caverns. We crawled, climbed, slid, mucked through the mud, waded through muddy water as thick as a chocolate milkshake, skirted deep crevices, climbed slippery ladders and rafted across an underground lake.
The first to emerge out of the deep dark hole in the ground were this group of brave cavers: Gwen, Maafi, Niche, Montgomery, Patrick and Joe. The last group to emerge from the depths were not only covered head to toe in mud, but soaking wet.
