Annual Fund

Lunar New Year 2013. Oakland Museum of California.

Every facet of the Oakland Museum of California’s work is influenced by our community, and we strive to influence the world around us through our public programs, projects in the community, online resources, and partnerships. With this in mind, please consider a special gift to the OMCA Annual Fund that will directly support our efforts to engage with our surrounding community.

Contributions to the OMCA Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible and will help OMCA create:

Engaging Public Programs: Our weekly Friday Nights @ OMCA is just one example of the many ways OMCA welcomes our community to the Museum. Friday Nights @ OMCA has become an indispensible part of East Bay culture over the past year, offering free and low-cost museum experiences for people of all ages.

Strong Partnerships: California State University, Youth Radio, Friends of Sausal Creek, YMCA of the East Bay, and you—our visitors—are some of the many groups and individuals OMCA works closely with to offer unique perspectives on the story of California.

Projects in the Community: OMCA’s upcoming We Dream in Art Mural Banner Project, created through participatory art activities in public spaces like Oakland’s San Antonio, Chinatown, Uptown, and West Oakland neighborhoods, will come alive on the Museum’s walls, representing community members’ dreams for the community’s future.

Unparalleled Access to the Most Comprehensive Resource on California: In addition to presenting California’s cultural and artistic heritage in the galleries, we are working to make our vast collection of over 1.8 million objects, including seminal art works, historical artifacts, ethnographic objects, natural specimens, and photographs, available to the public online at
