Adult Programs

Whether it's a gallery walk-through led by an OMCA Docent or a talk by an artist, a Docent-led bike tour of Oakland or a music-filled evening in our galleries, our special programs and events offer new perspectives on the way you think about our state and our community. We offer a dynamic array of compelling adult programs reflecting the California experience.

  • Special Events
Our OMCA Calendar is filled with numerous special events—including talks given by curators and artists, film screenings, and live performances, just to name a few—many of which are included with museum admission. We also invite you to celebrate the diverse cultures and arts of our community through our Community Celebrations.
  • Bike Tours of Oakland
From May through October, the Museum's bike-tripping docents lead a group of cyclists on a leisurely ride through many scenic and historical parts of Oakland. Check out upcoming Bike Tours.
  • Pop-up Talks
Once a month, on the third Friday from 7 to 7:30 pm during Friday Nights @ OMCA, Pop-up Talks in the OMCA Galleries feature guest speakers on everything from beekeeping to train hopping, revolution to space travel. Check out upcoming Pop-up Talks.
  • LBGT Tours
During the months of June and September, OMCA Docents offer special LGBT History Tours in the Gallery of California History. Check out upcoming LBGT History Tours.
