ADULT PROGRAMS
Whether it's a gallery walk-through led by one of our docents or a talk by an artist , a docent-led bike tour of Oakland or a music-filled evening in our galleries, our special programs and events offer new perspectives on the way you think about our state and our community. We plan a full slate of compelling adult programs reflecting the California Experience when we reopen in May 2010, so check back frequently.
- A Full Roster of Events
Every month at OMCA, our Calendar is filled with numerous special events—including talks given by curators and artists, film screenings, live performances, just to name a few—many of which are included with museum admission. We also invite you to celebrate the diverse cultures and arts of our community through our Community Collaborations.
- First Fridays After Five
The first Friday of every month, we extend our hours until 9 p.m. and pack our galleries with color and volume via film events, artist talks, special classes—plus live music in the Cafe. It's a great chance to meet old friends and make new ones! Keep checking for updates on new First Friday After Five programs when we reopen in May 2010.
- Bike Tours of Oakland
From May through October, the Museum's bike-tripping docents lead a group of cyclists on a leisurely ride through many scenic and historical parts of Oakland. Check our calendar for details.- Guild Trips
The guilds organize day tours in the Bay Area, as well as trips to destinations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Please check their popular Out-of-Town-Trips and Day Tours.
