Donor Forum Artist Talk | Question Bridge: Black Males

Tuesday, November 7, 2017, 6:30–8:30 pm
Tuesday, November 7, 2017 - 6:30pm

Invitation Only & RSVP Required

This exclusive event for Donor Forum Members celebrates the Museum's new acquisition, Question Bridge: Black Males. Join us to hear artists Chris Johnson and Hank Willis Thomas in conversation with René de Guzman, senior curator of art and director of exhibition strategy.

In 2012, the San Francisco Chronicle hailed Question Bridge: Black Males as one of the Bay Area's top exhibitions. After traveling to over 30 museums, festivals, and institutions nationwide, it returns to the Oakland Museum of California this fall as part of the permanent collection. Question Bridge: Black Males presents intimate videos woven together to reveal nuanced portraits of black men in American society. It encompasses themes of family, love, interracial relationships, community, education, and wisdom.

6:30 pm: Artist Talk in the Gallery of California Art
7–8:30 pm: Reception and viewing

Donor Forum members can RSVP by November 1, 2017 to rsvp@museumca.org or 510-318-8502.
